Trygve Rovelstad (1903 to 1990) was an Elgin-based sculptor and member of the P&C. One of his sculptures is the statue of Richard J. Barr, a long-time member of the Illinois legislature, which stands in the statehouse in Springfield today. Here’s a photo I recently added to my collection of Rovelstad putting the finishing touches on the Barr sculpture:

Rovelstad notably designed a fifty-cent piece for the U.S. Mint. It was issued in 1936.
