Adam Emory Albright was an early member of the P&C. He was born in Monroe, Wisconsin, and moved to Chicago at age 19. In the 1920’s he bought an old Methodist church in Warrenville, Illinois, and made it his studio.

Here’s a photo I have collected of Albright outside his Warrenville studio. I love the old cars in the background–and the young model standing next to him.

Today the old church is the home of the Warrenville Historical Museum.

Here’s the sort of painting he is known for:

Two of his sons became artists as well–Ivan Albright and Malvin Albright. Ivan was a painter, Malvin a sculptor. They both had studios in Warrenville at one time.
