Here’s a photo, along with caption, of a group of Palette and Chisel members in the old Athenaeum Building studio. We know it must predate 1903, because Frank Holme–who appears in the photo seated fourth from the left in the front row–moved away from Chicago in 1902. Of particular interest to me are the painters Frederick Mulhaupt and Wilson Irvine. Fred Larson is shown here, a printmaker and watercolorist (whose work you can see in the second floor drawing studio today), as is Troy Kinney, an etcher who made many beautiful prints of dancers.
